Checking asbestos

Dorset Home Inspectors Ltd are independent and not involved in services such as asbestos removal or reinstatement. You can therefore be confident that any survey we conduct will provide you with accurate and relevant information to help you formulate a management plan to meet your company’s needs.

By Law you must have an asbestos management plan. As well as potentially putting at risk the health of your staff and customers, the duty holder could be liable for any or all of the following:

  • Closure of the premises
  • Personal fines of up to £20,000
  • Disqualification from Directorship
  • A custodial sentence

These might sound like extreme measures but asbestos is potentially a very dangerous substance - currently in the UK, 3500 people die each year as a result of exposure to asbestos.

In addition, many insurance companies may refuse to renew your policy unless you have identified any potential asbestos risks and developed an asbestos management Plan.
The solution is very simple – an asbestos survey from    Dorset Home Inspectors Ltd. Our comprehensive survey conducted by qualified professionals, identifies any risks and recommends, what action if any, is required and the cost is from as little as £200 depending on the size and condition of your building.

Asbestos Surveys - We are able to undertake comprehensive asbestos surveys and have staff who have gained qualifications in asbestos surveying to buildings. ie. B.I.O.H (British Institute of Occupational Hygiene), P402 Course in ‘Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling’ which is a nationally recognised qualification for Asbestos Surveying.
