Dorset Home Inspectors Ltd are an independent company specialising in the completion of Management and Pre Refurbishment/Demolition Surveys (Previously referred to as Type 2 and 3 Asbestos surveys) to comply fully with Asbestos: The Survey Guide. HSG 264 which is published by the Health and Safety Executive for the Surveying, Sampling and Assessment of Asbestos-Containing Materials.

We are fully qualified (BOHS P402) to undertake Asbestos Surveying & Sampling and offer an efficient and cost-effective service to both industry and the business owner.

A typical survey will identify if Asbestos is present, the type of material and location. Where appropriate, samples may be taken for laboratory analysis which will identify the type of asbestos material present and determine the management plan required.

Asbestos Register Report

On completion of a survey, you will receive a detailed Asbestos Register Report with recommendations for action. (For Non-Domestic premises the report will assist in the development of an Asbestos Management Plan).

Regular site visits throughout Dorset, West Hampshire and South Wiltshire (undertaken within 5 working days with reports delivered within 5 days of survey, subject to laboratory sampling returns)

Q. Do all buildings need a survey?

A. The requirements as set out by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), refers to non-domestic properties, however asbestos containing materials ACM’s) are present in domestic properties as well. Dwellers and builders / maintenance workers and the insurance industry are instructing surveys to be carried out on non-domestic property

Q. What happens if you find asbestos on our premises?

A. This depends on the type location and mainly the condition of the Asbestos that is found on the premises. The recommendations vary from managing to be removed immediately by a licensed Asbestos removal contractor.

Q. Will we be breaking the law if we do not have a survey?
